Introduction to fusion energy and reactor design

Thomas Weber
P-24, Los Alamos National Laboratory

This will be an introduction to the science and engineering of thermonuclear fusion energy production and reactor design. Topics covered will include exothermic nuclear reaction and fusion, cross section and reaction rate, important thermonuclear fusion cycles, conditions for ignition and energy gain, energy conversion, tritium economics, reactor confinement concepts, and powerplant design.
