Rydberg atoms have high principal quantum numbers and owing to quantal-classical correspondence, one can use classical methods to study processes in Rydberg atoms. The case of radiative cascade in Rydberg atoms will be presented as a motivation for use of classical methods. Discussion of a numerical method specifically suited for simulation of Rydberg systems will be presented. The case of Stark mixing in Rydberg atoms will be presented as a case study of this numerical algorithm. Host: James Colgan/T-04 jcolgan@lanl.gov |
