We present a macro-mechanical device consisting of two coupled pendulums constructed as a classical counterpart of a quantum bit. The experiments demonstrate the classical analog of Rabi oscillations, Landau - Zener transition, Stueckelberg interference etc. Solving the classical equations of motion we show that classical Bloch equations perfectly describe the dynamics of a driven two-level system including but not limited by non-linear effects (e.g. spin-echo). We discuss both similarities and principal differences between quantum mechanical two-level systems and its classical analog. Host: Nikolai Sinitsyn |
