The Fractal Ising Model via Conformal Bootstrap

John Golden
University of Michigan

The emergence of conformal symmetry during phase transitions significantly constrains the values of critical exponents. The "conformal bootstrap" is a recent research program aimed at fully exploring the consequences of conformal symmetry on correlation functions, with the goal of understanding the space of possible conformal field theories. A key step in this analysis is numerical optimization in the form of linear and semidefinite programs. After introducing this bootstrap program, I will apply these techniques to study the Ising model in 1
