Assessing and Improving the Operational Resilience of Critical Infrastructure Systems: Recent Progress and Future Challenges

David Alderson
Naval Postgraduate School

In this talk, I will review recent progress in studying the operational resilience of critical infrastructure systems based on attacker-defender models and using a parametric analysis of attacker capability. Using a notional example, I will illustrate the underlying assumptions, computational issues, and key insights associated with the technique. Moreover, I will describe current efforts and challenges for applying the study of multiple dependent and interdependent infrastructure systems.
