Many diseases, ideas, and technologies spread through social networks. The contacts from individuals who are "infected" to individuals who are "susceptible" can lead to infection. In many cases, the fact that a partnership has non-zero duration plays an important role in determining how the contagion can spread. I will discuss a mathematical framework for investigating the spread in static and dynamic Configuration Model networks.
