In some astrophysical applications, the gyrokinetic formalism needs to be extended to include the proper treatment of relativistic charged particles. The derivation of the relativistic guiding- center and gyrocenter Hamilton equations is presented. A discussion of the standard Northrop guiding-center equations is also presented.
