An overview of some recent UT/ORNL work on layered chalcogenides

David Mandrus
University of Tennessee

IrTe2 undergoes an unusual structural transition, and superconducts when doped with Pt or Pd. CrNb3S6 is a helimagnet that forms a magnetic soliton lattice in applied field with highly unusual transport properties. In this talk I will discuss some recent work we have carried out on these systems.
