Cooperation between Kondo effect and antiferromagnetism in Kondo lattices

We propose a generic microscopic physical mechanism responsible for coexistence of the Kondo effect and antiferromagnetism in heavy-fermion systems. By considering the two-dimensional quantum Kondo-Heisenberg lattice model we highlight the central role of long-range electron hopping in stabilizing the antiferromagnetic Kondo state. Thus, our results provide an experimentally verifiable insight into quantum criticality in heavy-fermion materials.
