A Queueing Networks - a Modern Perspective

David Gamarnik, ULAM Fellow
MIT

We will provide a brief overview of queueing network theory - a cornerstone model of many applications in data, manufacturing and service systems. Starting with a brief background of classical facts from queueing networks theory we will provide an overview of some modern topics including heavy traffic models, large deviations and large scale networks. Positive results as well as some intractability issues will be discussed.
