Approaches to simulate uncertainties in power system operations and planning

Yuri Makarov
Chief Scientist - Power Systems Energy and Environment Directorate, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory

This presentation discussed some approaches to simulate uncertainties associated with system load and variable generation and their application to practical problems that needs to be addressed by operations and planning engineers. Another example reflected in this presentation addresses uncertainties in power system dynamic behavior as they are reflected by synchrophasor measurements.
