What Matters in Scientific Software Projects? 10 Years of Success and Failure Distilled ?

Eric Jones
CEO of Enthought

Over the past ten years Enthought has worked on many scientific software projects. Most went well, but a few did not. Theories abound as to what is required for a successful project, but the magic formula remains elusive. This talk outlines the lessons we have learned developing scientific computing solutions over the last 10 years and describes the ingredients we have found most critical for success.
