Continuous Newton's Method for Power Flow Analysis

Federico Milano
University of Castilla - La Mancha, Spain

This talk presents the application of the continuous Newton's method to the power flow problem. This method consists in formulating the power flow problem as a set of autonomous ordinary differential equations. Based on this formal analogy, an entire family of numerically efficient algorithms for solving ill-conditioned or badly-initialized power flow cases is proposed.
