Quantum Lunch

Experiments with Atoms in Optical Lattices

David Weiss
Penn State University

I will describe experiments to create and study non-equilibrium 1D Bose gases, with the goal of illuminating the onset of chaos in quantum mechanical systems and the limits of adiabaticity. I will also describe an approach to making a quantum computer using neutral atoms in optical lattices.
