Interaction of topological defects

Len Pismen
Technion

I review problems of interacting topological defects and their dynamics, with the emphasis on paradoxes related to far field divergences and their resolution through matching of the far field and defect core. The examples include vortices in one- or two-component superfluids or BEC, defects in patterns, spiral waves, and hedgehogs in liquid crystals.
