In this talk, we will discuss various ideas for encoding fermionic algebras into spin algebras in the context of quantum computing. We will distinguish the algorithmic encodings by the spin locality as a proxy for the difficulty of implementation. Among the algorithms covered are the Jordan-Wigner, and the Bravyi-Kitaev transforms and their generalization as a Fenwick data structure. Ideally, listeners will appreciate the diversity of ideas for imposing fermonic dynamics on qubits. Host: Yigit Subasi |
