Fluctuation theorem and fluctuation relations: a review

Giovanni Gallavotti
Universita di Roma

The fluctuation theorem will be briefly introduced and discussed. The corresponding fluctuation relation can be tested in simulations, but the real question is whether it has physical consequences that can be tested in experiments: it is necessary to understand the modeling of the thermostat action in systems out of equilibrium and in the second half of the talk I will try to clarify some aspects of the problem.
