Cell Signaling and Regulation

The cell is a complex system with many pathways for regulating cell function.  The pieces of this regulation are biochemical reactions and networks that couple intracellular processes with genetic information to determine which genes are expressed and which proteins are produced.  In this area, our main focus will be on obtaining a systems-level understanding of the molecular mechanisms that cells use to make decisions.  We are particularly interested in modeling of signal-transduction systems, genetic regulatory networks, and stochastic biochemical processes.
