Granular Media Studies at CNLS

Granular media consists of macroscopically-sized solid particles. Nevertheless, they exhibit rich and interesting behavior which defies conventional fluid/gas/solid classification. Experiments show size segregation, pattern formation, arches and chains and cooperative motion. At CNLS our aim is improving the theoretical description of dynamic and static properties of granular media.
