LOCATION
**PLEASE NOTE** The location of the workshop
on Statistical Nonlinear Physics of Fiber Optical Communication has
been changed. The meeting will now be held at the Los Alamos Inn Hotel.

NON-U.S. CITIZENS
Visits for non-U.S. citizens (including permanent residents) to Los Alamos National Laboratory will be processed for approval prior to the workshop. All non-U.S. citizens who visit the Laboratory will be issued an identification badge which should be worn at all times while on Laboratory property. You will need a passport (mandatory) and other picture identification (e.g. driver's license) to get a badge issued. On Monday morning, please go to the Badge Office prior to the opening of the conference.
REGISTRATION

665-2659. The registration fee of $150.00 covers the cost
of refreshment breaks and a workshop banquet and will be accepted by
mail with the registration form or at the workshop. It may be
paid in cash or by cheque in U.S. dollars and drawn on a U.S. bank.
There is no mechanism at the Laboratory for payment by credit
card or purchase order. Additional banquet tickets were purchased
in advance for $40.
DURATION OF TALKS
Invited talks were 40 minutes + 5 minutes for questions. Contributed talks were 20 minutes + 5 minutes for questions.
SCHEDULE

LIBRARY
The library is located in the basement (journals) and the first floor (books, current periodicals, and reference books) of the Oppenheimer Study Center . It is open to the public from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
WEATHER
Los Alamos is famous for its mild temperatures. In winter, you can expect sunny days but cold nights with the possibility of snow showers or storms. Be prepared for just about anything! Los Alamos is located at an altitude of over 7000 feet.
