Postdoctoral openings

Truly outstanding applicants may apply for prestigious and highly competitive Director's and Oppenheimer's postdoctoral fellowships, which provide the opportunity to pursue independent research. Candidates for these positions need to be nominated by technical staff members. The winners are selected four times annually and are determined by the strengths of the candidates' research proposals and their academic and research excellence. Undergraduate and graduate summer student program

Center for Nonlinear Studies and T-1 group at Los Alamos National Laboratory has an extensive summer undergraduate/graduate student program. Duration of an appointment is usually 1-3 months. We are seeking qualified applicants to work on research projects related to the theoretical chemistry of excited states in organic and semiconductor molecular systems. No previous experience in this area is required but general background in quantum mechanics and solid state physics is desirable. The salary level ranges from $2k to $4k/per month depending on person's experience + relevant travel expenses (browse for details LANL Web site http://www.lanl.gov/education/index.shtml ). Proof of good academics standing from your college or university, undergraduate and graduate transcripts, and two recommendation letters are required to apply.
