Travel and Lodging Information

TRANSPORTATION

Albuquerque is the major air terminal. Los Alamos may be reached from Albuquerque International Airport by a scenic two-hour drive. Rental cars are available at the Albuquerque airport through all major companies. The Laboratory has a contract with Budget which provides liability, collision and loss coverage on all official Laboratory rentals at NO EXTRA COST. Travelers should DECLINE coverage when offered, as the purchase of additional insurance is not necessary and cannot be reimbursed by the Laboratory.

There is also a small airport in Santa Fe, serviced by United Airlines and American Airlines. United Airlines have four flights per day (including Sunday) from Denver to Santa Fe. Aspen Mountain Air, serving as a shuttle for American Airlines, has three flights per day from Dallas to Santa Fe.

Albuquerque Airport to Hotel Santa Fe is a 60-minute trip via the Santa Fe Shuttle, a luxury service. The current fare is $23.00 per person, each way. Ten coach departures per day are scheduled in the summer, eight in the winter. The Santa Fe Shuttle picks up and drops off passengers directly at Hotel Santa Fe. Phone: 505-474-5632, toll free  888-775-5696;  One way $23. See http://www.sandiashuttle.com  for more information and schedule.

LODGING

A block of rooms has been reserved at the Hotel Santa Fe (http://www.hotelsantafe.com) for conference participants at $134/night+tax government rate.

By default the rooms have been reserved (EXCEPT LANL participants!) for Discussion Leaders and Invited Speakers (assuming 08/07/05 arrival and 08/12/05 departure dates). PLEASE contact the hotel (1-800-825-9876) to confirm/modify your reservation according to your schedule. We will be forced to cancel ALL unconfirmed reservations few days before the conference to avoid charges.

Participants presenting contributed papers will need to make their own hotel reservation either at the Hotel Santa Fe (the reservation deadline is one month before the meeting, July 8) or nearby hotels.

LANL participants will need to submit standard travel request to attend the meeting.

There are a number of other lodging possibilities in Santa Fe: Santa Fe Motels, Hotels, etc ... gives a long list with pricing information. Santa Fe Hotels, Motels and More... another, very similar link. You might also want to try a search for special rates in Santa Fe with lodging.com .

MEALS

Refreshments will be provided during mid-morning and mid-afternoon breaks.
