The Optical Probes Conference is the number one series in the field of photophysics of organic semiconductors. The previous conferences took place at Snowbird (1992), Salt Lake City (1994), San-Diego (1997), Salt Lake City (2000), Venice (2003), Bangalore (2005), Turku (2007), and Beijing (2009). The Excited State Processes Conference focuses on fundamental photoinduced phenomena in various nanostructured materials. Please browse links below to explore topics of our past (2001, 2003, 2005, 2007, and 2009) ESP meetings at LANL.

The scope of the current conference is a variety of excited state phenomena in technologically important materials and biosystems, including size-dependent and time-dependent electronic interactions, excited state dynamics, quantum confinement, and carrier transport, emphasizing similarity of the phenomena rather than specifics of the systems.

Topics Include:
      • Organic and polymeric materials
                photophysics, chemistry, and dynamics
      • Organic/polymeric electronic devices
                energy transfer and charge transport
      • Carbon nanotubes
                ultrafast processes and functional devices
      • Organo-metallic complexes
                excited state potentials and photocatalysis
      • Semiconductor nanocrystals and metal nanoparticles
from novel structures to novel physical phenomena
      • Biosystems
conformations, energy/charge transport, spectroscopy and photosynthesis
      • Organic and inorganic nanostructured photovoltaic phenomena
                physics, chemistry, and devices
      • Molecular and supramolecular ordered assembly at nanoscales
      • Energy transfer phenomena and chemico- and bio-sensors
      • Spin dynamics in organic systems
