General Information


The Center for Nonlinear Studies at Los Alamos National Laboratory is pleased to host the conference " ELECTRONIC AND VIBRATIONAL INTERACTIONS IN CARBON NANOTUBES " to be held August September 6-8, 2006. The meeting is organized by Stephen K. Doorn <skdoorn@lanl.gov > and Sergei Tretiak <serg@.lanl.gov>.  Adam Shipman  <ashipman@lanl.gov> is the conference coordinator.

LOCATION

The meeting will be held at the hotel La Posada de Santa Fe ( http://www.LaPosadaDeSantaFe.com ) located in the historic center of Santa Fe, NM.

NON-U.S. CITIZENS

If you are a Foreign National (i.e. not a US citizen) and have plans to visit LANL (i.e. visit experimental labs and/or meet our researchers), you need an approval from the LANL security office. All non-U.S. citizens who visit the Laboratory will be issued an identification badge which should be worn at all times while on Laboratory property. You will need a passport (mandatory) and other picture identification (e.g. driver's license) to get a badge issued.

REGISTRATION

Please use organizer’s e-mails (skdoorn@lanl.gov or serg@lanl.gov ) to submit title and abstract of your presentation. The registration fee is waived for invited speakers, students and postdocs. We will cover the cost of refreshment breaks and a workshop banquet. Additional banquet tickets may be purchased for $40. It may be paid in cash or by check in U.S. dollars and drawn on a U.S. bank. There is no mechanism at the Laboratory for payment by credit card or purchase order. 

DURATION OF TALKS

Invited talks are 40 minutes + 5 minutes for questions. Contributed talks are 20 minutes + 5 minutes for questions.

Both standard overhead projector and LCD projector (for power point presentations) will be provided. Please notify your session chair in advance if you are planning computer presentation for your lecture.

WEATHER

Santa Fe is famous for its mild temperatures. However, be prepared for just about anything! The city is located at an altitude of almost 7000 feet.
