registrants. Registration will be accepted on a first come, first served
basis. On-site registration will be available. Registration will also be
possible at the reception on Sunday evening, June 8.
REGISTRATION: **VERY IMPORTANT** Every
day the Los Alamos National Laboratory proudly hosts as its employees and
visitors citizens from several dozen different countries. Its ability to
do this is tied to its need to comply with regulations and policies of the
U. S. Department of Energy (DOE). These regulations and policies often
change suddenly in response to world events. In setting registration
policies and deadlines it is necessary to guess what these events might
necessitate at the time of the conference. The following is as simple as we can
make it. All
conference attendees must be issued a
Department of Energy badge and wear it on Laboratory grounds . If
you are a Laboratory employee, citizen or not, you of course already have
that badge. Non- citizens
should check to see if their 982 includes authorization access to the
Study Center. You can register anytime. If
you are not a Laboratory employee but a U. S. citizen, you will be issued
a visitor badge, valid for the duration of the conference, upon presentation of a
valid government issued picture identification card, (for example, your
driver's license or passport). The badge will allow access only to the J.
Robert Oppenheimer Study Center, Otowi Cafeteria, and coffee shop in the
Los Alamos Industrial Park (Motorola) building.
While at the conference, if you wish to visit a Laboratory employee
outside of these areas, you will need to have that person arrange the
necessary paperwork. You can register anytime. If
you are not a Laboratory employee and not a U. S. citizen, in addition to
the registration form, you must fill out the information form for a
non-citizen visit request. This information is required by the
Department of Energy (DOE) and must accompany your registration form. You
will be issued a badge, valid for the duration of the conference, upon
presentation of a valid PASSPORT. The badge will allow access only to the
Study Center, cafeteria, and coffee shop in the Industrial Park building.
While at the conference, if you wish to visit a Laboratory employee
outside of these areas, you will need to have that person arrange the
necessary paperwork. If you register and need an official letter of invitation to apply for a travel visa, please contact Jim Gubernatis, jg@lanl.gov, as soon as possible.
Non-US
citizen
attendees must register by April 7, 2003.
