The workshop will be held at the Banff International Research Station (BIRS) in the Banff Centre. The centre is located in Banff National Park in the Canadian Rockies.

Average high temperatures in September are 16°C (60°F) and average lows are 3°C (37°F)

Banff is situated in the Rocky Mountains about 1 1/2 hours west of Calgary. There is a regular shuttle service from the Calgary airport to the Banff Centre. Information regarding ground transportation to/from Calgary can be found at the BIRS transportation page.

For convenience, we recommend carpooling and sharing the cost of a rental car. This will give you an opportunity to see more of the surrounding areas.
