This workshop will bring together groups in materials science and in statistical and nonequilibrium physics that are working on dislocation and defect dynamics, with the goal of interchanging ideas and approaches. The workshop focus is twofold: it will address particular issues in materials science and how they can be studied with concepts and methods from statistical physics such as scaling, depinning dynamics, random organization, and jamming, and it will also bring materials science concepts to statistical physics problems.

Registration:

Pre-registration has closed. Feel free to register upon arrival.

Speakers need not register.  The event is open to all that are interested (LANL and non-LANL).

Lunch will be provided for all non-LANL attendees.  Coffee breaks will be provided for everyone.
