Seminar

Nonlinear Porous Materials and Optimization

Alicia Kim
University of Bath

The seminar will present a range of research areas that I am currently involved in. They will include some of the on-going activities at Bath as well as recent interests in collaboration with NASA Langley and EES, LANL, more specifically, (1) structural and topology optimisation (2) energy harvesting using bistable piezo-composites (3) modelling nonlinear elastic behaviour of porous materials. I will also discuss my research plans during my time here in Los Alamos and plan to conclude by open discussion.

Host: James A. TenCate, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Geophysics, 505-665-7476
